Copyright infringement suspicion ?

I did wedding photography for a couple in the beginning of August. I had all 300 proofs to them by the end of August. Now it's the middle of October and I haven't gotten their order. I put my copyright information on the front and back of the proofs. Her maid of honor told me one day that her husband was a photoshop whiz and could do anything with that program. When I follow up as to where the order stands, she tells me it's in someone elses hands (grooms family, her family, friends, wedding party, etc. always someone different). I suspect the maid of honor's husband is scanning in my photos and photoshoping my copyright watermark out of the picture. I actually used a tool (brush I think) in photoshop and stamped it to the bottom right of each picture in black. What can I do and is there a way to prevent this in the future?
