A world without religion.?

Imagine for a second. Try to forget all about an entity that is superior to us. Imagine that this idea was never thought of. Wouldn't you think there would be more peace. And please i don't want a bunch of crazy religious people. Think about it. There wouldn't be America if it weren't for religion because pilgrims came to this land to get away from Europe because they were puritans. The Europeans wanted people to believe in their religion. What would the world be like? There are so many other examples like war over religion. I'm not saying religion is bad but wouldn't the world be better without it? BTW i am religious but I'm also open minded and not clouded by religion.
