I live in Halifax County in southside Virginia. My county is located in a very economically depressed reigon. About 75% of the people here are uneducated and there is a very large amount of african americans. The Virgina state governemnt does notrhing to help us. Meanwhile NOVA (Northern Virginia) has some of the richest people in the country, has the highest per capita income in the nation, and has the 2nd best education system in the U.S. The taxbase there is unbelievable and there is almost always a surplus of money. The Virginia State government never takes that money to help us poorer counties. Its almost if we dont exist. Why does the governemnt only help those that already have money?

Why does WIC no longer give vouchers for soy milk?

A friend of mine has a 2 year-old that is allergic to dairy, but she is on WIC and they no longer will give vouchers for soy milk or cheese. With all of the kids that are now allergic to dairy why would they choose to take that away? The mom is disabled, as are both of her kids so she can't work. Since she is potty trained during the day she is only in diapers for naps, not when we go out but I didn't think to change her out of the diaper. Well 5 minutes down the road she says mommy I have to go potty. I am trying to get my husband his papers which is about a 40 minute round trip back to the house and I know there is no way she can hold it so I told her to just use her diaper. I felt really bad, it took a long time to potty train her and now I'm telling her to go potty in diapers. We finally got to the parking lot where my husband was waiting and I gave him the papers and he poked his head in the window to say high to Shelby and gave me a funny look since she was diapered. I said I had to wake her up from her nap and hurry up and get her so I didn't have time to take her out of her diaper he said oh okay so he didn't think it was a big deal. On the way home I needed a few grocery items and since we p by the store I went ahead and stopped in and it took about 15 minutes to get the few items. When we got home I told her we can get her out of the wet diaper she was in and usually like when she wakes up from her nap, she comes right to me to get changed back into panties. She went right back to her room and started playing and didn't take any notice of being in a wet diaper. I walked in and said lets get that diaper off and into some big girl panties. She hesitated and took her sweet time to get changed which she has never done before. Today she did the same thing, instead of coming to me after she woke up from her nap so I can take her wet diaper off, she got up and was playing. She was probably awake for about 40 mintues and never told me to change her and when I told her let get her big girl panties on again, she said okay but kept on playing until I mader her come to me so I could get her out of the diaper. Time's Running Out...Should I Go For It?

First of all this is not one of those, "OMGZZZZZ DO YOU THNK HE LIKEZZ MII?!" questions, and I really don't want one of those types of answers. I'm looking for some unbiased advice here. I'm a junior in high school right now, and I've had a crush on my friend since the beginning of freshman year. The more people talk about college, the more I think about how I'll be leaving friends behind, but more importantly, how I'll be leaving this friend behind. I'm not sure whether I should ask him out or not, because I'm terrified of compromising the time we have together as friends with such little time left in high school, but I'm also scared of letting what could be an amazing relationship slip through the cracks. Does anyone have any advice on the subject, or has anyone experienced a similar situation? Recently my eyelids have been really puffy n freak me out:(?

I don't think it's the same thing, but if I cry mine do that. Especially if I cry at night and I wake up in the morning and they are like soooooo puffy, sometimes I can't even open my eyes. I think it must have something to do with water retention or my tear ducts not working properly. When I wake up every morning, they are a little bit puffier, but it usually goes away within a half hour or so. You could try cuber slices, but I don't know how well that would work.

His younger sister and her husband were sitting on a couch in their parents living room. Transferring from community college to university?

i will be starting CC january at 20 years old just turned 20. I know i can maintain a high GPA, possibly get into the honors society but there is literally like no good clubs at my CC. My bf is 21 and just graduated college, a year early actually he graduated in 3 years b/c his father made him take cles every single semester (we're talking both summer sessions AND winter/holiday session). The person that made this comment should really do there homework. Families before this so called era, weren't the happy Cleavers that tv would like us to think. As a matter of fact, some women did work outside the home. During World War 2 many were in fact, forced to. There were single parents then and studies conclude that these children were just as successful some odd years later. Divorce was strongly looked down upon, that's why there weren't as many. There were however, more cases of , child molestation, and abuse left unreported during this time though because women did not have the same rights and feared persecution. These are not values my friend that these women had. Instead of blaming the negative changes on the family unit, I blame the negative changes of society for the demise of the family unit. For example, why should a mother have to choose between work,school, and her children? In this economy, it is almost impossible for only one parent to make ends meet. Some have to though. I was given this topic to write about my paper and was hoping if people could help me get started with it. We read a couple of different pieces such as William Paley's Natural Theology with the watch. We have discussed things such as intelligent design and what not and I just need arguments against divine activity in nature. Here's an example if I have confused anyone: One argument against god in nature might be all the violent acts that occur (read about some of these in Darwin's Origin of Species). Other people argue that if god was in nature then why would he let bad things happen to good people. Once again I don't want people to read this and think it's an anti-god piece that I'm writing it was just an ignment given to me so don't turn it into something it's not. Why do I feel so tired?

I'm 14 years old in year 10. I eat healthily and do enough excercise but I am just so exausted all the time. We live quite far away from school an my mum has this weird thing were she makes us Hoover the whole house in the morning so that takes some time so I have to get up at 5:45am every morning for school. Whenever I get a dog, I plan on raw feeding but?

I'm conflicted as to if the dog needs fruits/veggies or not. There are conflicting statements on Google stating that dogs are carnivores, but then another will say dogs are omnivores. I tend to believe they are carnivores since they have meat shearing teeth, not plant grinding teeth. But when I do get him/her, should I incorporate fruits/veggies or stick with muscle meat, organs, bone and blood? I want him/her to have the best possible species appropriate diet.

All you have to do to get admitted into a mental institution is go to a psychiatrist for one visit and tell him exactly what you wrote here. But......you're not crazy! You actually realize what you're doing, a crazy person doesn't know the difference. You've just gotta find a way to calm yourself. Lying is a habit, use to be one of mine. Raging is also a habit, that I also use to have. Now, it takes a lot to piss me off. Kids will be your #1 tamer, believe it or not. They teach you patience. Just remember, there is always help out there. Sometimes, in your situation, you can feel like you don't have other options. People like us tend to be cynical in the way that we make ourselves believe that we have few options when in reality, there are so many. Don't give up on yourself, you deserve to be happy and you are capable of being an amazing mother.

I'm uncomfortable with this girl, and wondering if I should worry...?

There's this girl that my bf is friends with who lives in a different state. He told me once that when she was drunk, she said that she wanted to hook up with him. Sometimes she makes comments to him on myspace that makes me feel uncomfortable. They either seem ually suggestive or flirtatious. What to do about my poor dog?

I brought my dog twice to the vet. She is diagnosed with a torn ligament with her knee. He gave her a cortisone shot and I put her on prednisone pills for 2 weeks. She still limps. Although, she does not show sign of pain. But she can't run around like she used to and she's not as perky. I can't afford surgery at this moment. I heard that you can give a dog glucosamine and it helps. she's about 12 lbs. how much should I give her if I do give her some? I just want her back to her self. she's only 6. and she still wants to run around. Please help.

Pregnancy Update! 6 weeks and 6 days Today!?

Exactly one week ago today, i went to the doctor for my first sonogram, i was 5 weeks and 1 day pregnant. The sonogram tech only expected to see a gestational sac and yolk sac but the doctor felt that she should have seen a fetal pole and heartbeat. The doctor suggested i scheduled a d&c for the next day but i denied her. I did go today for another sonogram and today there was a fetus with a heartbeat of 148. I am due December 15th! I thought today i was 6 weeks and 1 day but my measurements i am 6 weeks and 6 days!

How old is your toddler? If she's under 2 1/2, then I'd apologize if she hurt someone or disturbed them, because you're modeling a proper courteous response. If it's a toddler friendly area and her behavior is within the expected norm (pushing a chair around quietly, not running into anyone or breaking/ramming anything) then stop worrying about what other people think. I like to provide lots of opportunity for my children to get their energy out in an appropriate forum (parks, playgrounds, indoor play areas, etc.) and avoid areas where I know that she doesn't yet have the understanding and self-control to handle (long church service, fine dining, etc.) As she ages, the children's area of the library is a good place to start practicing appropriate behaviors (not screaming or running inside, taking turns, etc.) When your daughter tried to get on the computer and you and the other parent had a dialog about taking turns and making choices, you were modeling the thinking process you want your child to learn. I can't use it right now because someone else is on the computer, I have already had a turn and now it's someone else's turn, if I want to play with something else, I can't still play on the computer and someone else will take a turn. If your child is older than 2 1/2, you should gently remind her what is proper behavior and have her do the apologizing when she disturbs other people and remove her if inappropriate behavior continues.

There's loads you can do. I love landscapes so if I'm stuck on describing a castle then I'll actually go to one and check it out, same for gardens, etc. Take a notepad with you. You could google landscape pictures and then describe them yourself. Stick the words in a thesaurus and write them all down. I'm sure that will help. Read books... I've been through all of the LOTR books on many occasions as J R Tolkien comes up with tons of different words to describe something so simple like the sun or a river. His imagination is incredible. Movies might help too. Watch something and pay attention to the setting. yze everything you see and then later on it will all come naturally to you.

Has anybody ever heard of cleaning motorcycle carburetors like this?

I have an 85 kawasaki 454 it sat for a few years and got clogged up. We drained the gas and took apart the carbs and cleaned them as best as we could. and even put in a carb new rebuild kit. Added some carb cleaner to the gas and I have been driving it as much as I can maybe 1 day a week like 40 minuets each time. And it is stubborn to start takes a few cranks and takes a while like 5-10 minuets to warm up if you do not wait it is hell to take off in. Even driving down the road you can feel the hesitation like when you are at a steady speed (55). Here is the question somebody told my husband to run out all of the gas add laquer thinner for a few runs and that will fix it is this crazy the can said not to be used as a fuel. I have not had the same experience, but I just wanted to say that I think you are going about dealing with it the right way, with the testing and therapy. I would definatly continue that, and if one doctor doesnt give you an answer you are satisfied with , then find another and another until you feel your son is getting all the help he needs. I will keep you, your son and family in my prayers. I hope that you find out something soon. I'm sure just know what's wrong will be quite a relief. Good Luck.

Okay so my great aunt just died a couple days ago and her funeral is on Wednesday at 1:00. I wasn't that close to her because I never really got to see her very much. I recently received a letter from mackenzie hall that we owe them over 2000 pounds. but i have no idea about this money. and the strange thing is they have used my maiden name on the letter. i received this letter on friday and they expect the money by tuesday. i recently read that the leader of mackenzie hall is also a leader of many companies but some where stricken from the register. and apparently a company they work with which i believe to have read is also one of the managers other companies j2 solutions. but the problem with j2 solutions is that apparently a lot of people have received letters, phone calls or people knocking at there door asking for neighbors information. is all this legal? are the companies even real? could this be a scam set up. i have checked on google maps and according to that mackenzie hall (which on there site says its set up in london and glasgow) but neither of these places are either verified by google or can be checked to see if this is the actual business place. all advice and information accepted please!!!!

You don't really want to be in that job, you'd rather be doing something more suited to who you are on the inside. The secretary was representing how you think you should feel, but you were naked and couldn't hide anything i.e. your distaste for who you are in that job. A tortured soul perhaps, compared to the bubbly you. You don't care who is in the meeting because of the above. You'd rather be free like a child or a wild horse. When you're pregnant you have to nurture what's inside you, and that should be obvious by now.

Whats wrong with my 19mth old?

Well the last 2 nights i have tried to feed him dinner and he wont really eat anything, just kinda nibbles and then acts like he doesnt want it. all he wants is milk and hes happy. hes been waking up in the middle of night crying and then he just goes back to sleep on his own. A question about warhorses: historically were there problems with using stallions?

throughout history people have been using horses in wars for everything from travel to battle, but knowing that stallions can be very temperamental i was wondering, were mares used more often than stallions? or were most of the male horses geldings? if not, is it possible to train stallions well enough not to fight with other stallions or try breeding with mares whilst a rider is mounted on them? for some reason i imagine that military figures with a high status (like generals) would have rode stallions as a symbol of power, but i could be wrong. does anyone know much about warhorses?

Can a bone scan pick up on dead cancer cells after one has been treated for bone cancer?

My daughter was just treated with chemotherapy for cancer that spread to the bones. Stage111. She just had another bone scan and it looks the same. I have read that a bone scan also will detect dead cancer cells. Is this true?

Sounds like you are over driving the cache used for the transfer. That is quite fast for a transfer and you would need a fast processor, lots of cache, and high speed disk access for it to work. The only other thing is have both set up for larger buffers in the advanced tab of properties, and some sort of ACK/NACK which will slow down the transfer rate. Checksum will do an after transfer verification of packets and again slow down true data transfer rate.
